Oracle Cloud / OpenShift lab

Get familiar with Oracle Cloud Console or try Red Hat OpenShift (trial/sandbox).

Follow the steps below. Use your own cloud account (free tier where applicable). Your checklist progress is saved in this browser.

  1. Choose a path

Oracle: sign up at cloud.oracle.com. OpenShift: try Red Hat OpenShift Sandbox or a local CRC (CodeReady Containers) setup.

  2. Oracle: Create a compartment

In OCI Console, go to Identity > Compartments and create a compartment for your lab resources.

  3. Oracle: Create a bucket

Go to Storage > Buckets, create a bucket in your compartment, and upload an object.

  4. OpenShift: Access the web console

Log in to your OpenShift cluster (sandbox or CRC) and explore the Developer and Administrator perspectives.

  5. Deploy a sample app

From the Developer perspective, create a new project and deploy a sample application from a template or image.

  6. Review resources

Check pods, services, and routes for your app in the OpenShift console.
